TNT DramaMatters
TNT
[www.tnt.tv], the first and only
network dedicated to drama, is proud to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of
America as part of the TNT DramaMatters initiative. TNT DramaMatters provides
tools and resources for Club staff, educators and parents to bring the many
benefits of drama education to children.
Drama education is a proven method of boosting academics and stimulating youth
development. In fact, research shows it can be a powerful teaching tool in core
learning areas including language arts, science and math.
Today, 14.3 million children (that’s 1 in 4 kids!) care for themselves
after school, and it is during the after-school hours between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
that children are most likely to engage in risky behavior.
TNT DramaMatters is partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to introduce
drama education as a powerful tool to stimulate Club member achievement and help
them reach their full potential in a safe environment. TNT DramaMatters
Afterschool provides Club professionals with fun, age-appropriate drama
activities to encourage learning and Club member engagement. The program will
launch in 15 pilot Clubs across the country this winter, and will roll out
nationally to Clubs in fall 2008. Through this exciting partnership, we can help
set the stage for success!
