Nickelodeon,
basic cable's top-rated television network with kids and adults, has launched Let's Just Play, a national multimedia campaign and grassroots effort
to get kids more physically active and encourage positive, healthy and playful
lifestyles. In partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Nickelodeon's
Let's Just Play employs public service announcements, celebrity
endorsements and community events, including activities at local Boys & Girls
Clubs. The campaign reinforces the pure value of play and challenges children
to engage in action-oriented activities.
Boys
& Girls Clubs of America hosts ongoing Let's Just Play activities
in local Clubs nationwide, and Nickelodeon directs kids and parents to seek
out Boys & Girls Clubs as a destination for kids to play.
In its 2007 "Philanthropy 400" report, The Chronicle of Philanthropy ranked Boys & Girls Clubs of America as number 15 among all nonprofit organizations.
