A. J. Wright
A.J.Wright is the growing, off-price
retail chain launched in 1998 by The TJX Companies, the worldwide leader in
off-price retail.
A.J.Wright
has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America since 1998.
In 2006, in addition to check presentations at each new store opening, the
partnership will include a dollar donation campaign, Professional Development
Month, and an art contest. During Professional Development Month, A.J.Wright
welcomes local teens from nearby Clubs to shadow store managers for an
afternoon. Participants are mentored by store managers and learn more about the
working world and potential careers in retail.
The art contest is a creative collaboration: Club member drawings are displayed
in A.J. Wright stores, and winning work is made into posters, framed and
presented to each young artist. This program supports the arts and encourages
creativity in young people.
Currently, the A.J.Wright "reach" extends across more than 150 stores and, in
the long
term, A.J.Wright believes that the United States can support 1,000 stores.
A.J.Wright and BGCA look forward to expanding our partnership, and are excited
about introducing and hosting new programs each year at the A.J.Wright stores.
